Future Farmers of America-FFA
Last night the FFA hosted a low country boil and oyster roast. 40 members came to eat, play board games, and hear about upcoming events through the FFA chapter. We would like to say a special thank you to Mr.Jarrod Creasy from 920 Cattle & Company for supplying us with sausage and cooking our low country boil. Members have started selling catfish plates for an upcoming fundraiser so if you would like some tickets please reach out to us and someone can get you some tickets!
FFA members had an egg-cellent time this afternoon at our Barnyard Olympics!
What is FFA?
The National FFA Organization is the largest a student led organization in the world! Every state has an FFA Association. (Even Hawaii!) Students in FFA participate in many events throughout the year. Members can compete in Career Development events. These are competitions that are specifically focused on one area of agriculture, such as livestock judging, ag mechanics, ag sales, lawnmower operations, meats evaluation, land judging, FFA quiz, and many more. Another way for members to get involved is afterschool and club day meetings. Some of the meetings we will hold this year are Water ’N Wings, Barnyard Olympics, and many more exciting events.
